Wind Flower Picnic

The Lounge Chair collection, created in collaboration between Margo Zeidan and Jamil Al-Hihi, consists of two chairs. They feature curved edges and comfortable seating, reflecting the soft, floral forms of spring elements in Palestine. The embroidery on the chairs is known as Tahriri embroidery, a traditional technique common in Bethlehem and Jerusalem. The design abstracts the elements, patterns, and colours of Tahriri embroidery, focusing on forms, techniques, and floral motifs, as well as birds that represent a spring picnic in Palestine. The thread colours have been carefully chosen: monochromatic shades highlight the technique and zigzag forms,  while warm tones of orange and yellow bring the embroidered figures to life, evoking the spirit of Tahriri embroidery.
