Maha Abu Dihou

Maha Abu Dilou is an embroidery artisan from Ramallah who began her journey at the age of seven, learning the craft from her mother, who instilled in her a deep love for this traditional art. Initially, embroidery was a way for her to help her mother, but it soon became a lifelong passion. Over time, Maha realised that traditional Palestinian embroidery was at risk of disappearing. Determined to revive it, she chose to preserve its authentic form while also adapting it to modern social changes. This balance between tradition and innovation has made her work unique, offering a creative space for expressing Palestinian cultural identity in a way that merges heritage with contemporary design.
